Job Description

IT Staff is recruiting Architects to work on conservation, refurbishment, and fit-out projects for a major Irish Government agency responsible for the management of over 100 State-owned heritage buildings in Dublin. These include Dublin Castle, the National Museum of Ireland Collins Barracks, the Four Courts, the Custom House, and Rathfarnham Castle. The projects will involve conservation works, fit-outs, new works, and ongoing maintenance across state offices and cultural institutions in Dublin. Some projects may also include collaboration with specialist craftspeople working in historic joinery, plasterwork, and metalwork. The successful candidates will be required to produce AutoCAD drawing packages, procure projects, work collaboratively with multidisciplinary design teams, and manage works on site. Candidates are expected to have a minimum of five (5) years post-graduation experience, including proven experience managing projects on site. Strong design and technical drawing skills are essential. Conservation experience is desirable, and a demonstrated interest in historic structures is expected. Candidates should ideally demonstrate: Previous experience in building conservation, including work on protected structures, heritage buildings, sites, and/or monuments Experience working on public buildings and/or buildings with a government function Full proficiency and up-to-date knowledge of AutoCAD for the production of contract documentation The contracts are for an initial period of 1 year, with the intention to extend for a further 23 years (total contract duration of 34 years).
