Job summary

Henry Schein seeks an experienced Senior API Engineer to drive API design, development, and optimization across an enterprise API ecosystem. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and DevOps to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing integrations using RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

Responsibilities include leading architectural decisions, implementing OAuth2/JWT security, and integrating with Databricks/Snowflake for real-time analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Applied Math, Statistics, ML, or related field.
• 5+ years in API development, focusing on RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Proficient in Python, Java, Node.js, or Go.
• Hands-on experience with API management tools (Mulesoft, Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway, or Azure API Management).
• Strong microservices architecture and event-driven design patterns.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Advanced knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, and API key management.
• Familiarity with caching, load balancing, and monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, or Snowflake for data integration.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

• Data Integration: connect APIs with Databricks, Spark, or Snowflake for analytics.
• Documentation & Reliability: produce developer docs and ensure robust testing.
• Continuous Improvement: stay updated on serverless, edge computing, and security trends.
