Job summary

Optum in Ireland seeks a Senior Analytics Engineer who blends data engineering with exploratory analytics to shape product decisions. You will work with Databricks, SQL and Python to transform large enterprise datasets into actionable insights, collaborating with business stakeholders and product teams.

You will build reusable notebooks, contribute to semantic layers for AI enablement, and document findings for solution design and implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Data Science, Engineering or related field.
• Proven analytics engineering, data engineering or data analysis experience with enterprise data warehouses.
• Advanced SQL skills including complex joins, window functions and optimization.
• Proficient Python with notebook-based development.
• Experience with the Databricks ecosystem and version control.

Responsibilities

• Perform data exploration, profiling and quality assessments.
• Clean, transform and prepare datasets for analysis.
• Design and execute exploratory analyses to inform product decisions.
• Develop reusable notebooks and analytics assets.
