Job summary

Kraken seeks a Model Risk Management Specialist to independently validate AML/CFT models, and to ensure regulatory compliance across EU and US frameworks. You will assess model performance, data quality, and potential biases while collaborating with engineering, risk, and AML teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field.
• 5+ years in model validation, risk management, or AML/CFT.
• Understanding of international model risk management rules, e.g., OCC SR 11-7.
• Strong machine learning and statistical modeling knowledge.
• Proficiency in Python, R and SQL.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Knowledge of fiat and crypto payment flows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently validate Transaction Monitoring, Customer Risk Assessment and Screening models.
• Ensure AML/CFT regulatory compliance for EU/US frameworks.
• Conduct risk assessments for AML/CFT risks in product and geographies.
• Develop and maintain model monitoring and annual certification processes.
• Collaborate with Model Engineering, AML/CFT SMEs, and risk teams.
• Produce high-quality validation reports, risk assessments, and regulatory documents.
• Contribute to model validation methodologies and best practices.
