Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior Specialist - AI Operations to support, maintain and optimize AI applications in production. The role combines IT operations, cloud engineering, and AIOps to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable AI workloads.

You will collaborate with AI/ML, software, data and IT security teams. The position offers potential remote flexibility up to 50% across a two-week window, with onsite work at facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent).
• 3+ years in IT operations, SRE, cloud engineering, or DevOps.
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS) including compute, networking, IAM, storage.
• Strong Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized app architectures.
• Experience with automation tools and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
• Familiarity with LLM/ML tools and workflows (MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI, Databricks).
• Proficient in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Strong troubleshooting across distributed systems, databases, APIs, pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for production AI applications ensuring availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot issues across data pipelines, model deployments, microservices and integrations.
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting for AI workloads.
• Maintain runbooks and incident response procedures.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes or similar.
• Support CI/CD and AI orchestration for training and deployment.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, scaling and failover.
• Collaborate with AI engineers to hand off to production operations.
• Develop reliability practices including SLO/SLI and capacity planning.
• Conduct RCAs and drive continuous improvement.
