Job summary

KX is seeking a principal-level architect for its Forward Deployed Engineering Team in Dublin. You will assess customer environments, design AI-enabled, high-performance data systems, and drive production outcomes across AI and real-time data processing.

The role requires deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud architecture, and low-latency design, with a track record delivering production AI and HPC systems for financials. Hybrid work at Dublin office with client site visits.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of distributed systems, real-time processing, streaming architectures and system performance.
• Strong cloud architecture skills and strong Python.
• A working understanding of AI and agent-system architecture: model integration, tools, context, and how enterprise data actually gets to a model safely.
• Credibility with CTOs, Chief Data and AI Officers, platform leaders and senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Assess the environment: run architecture, AI-readiness and workload-performance diagnostics inside the customer's environment, and turn the findings into a defensible design.
• Identify accelerated-compute opportunities: assess workloads for GPU and accelerated-compute opportunities, and prove the case with numbers.
• Evaluate AI and agent use cases: feasibility, architecture, cost and what it takes to operate them.
• Design across the estate: one coherent system spanning KX technology, AI platforms and the customer's own data.
• Map the data estate: understand the estate and its ontology with the customer team.
• Quantify the gains: size latency, throughput, scalability and cost credibly.
• Define the engagement hypothesis: architecture and success metrics.
• Benchmark and prototype: run benchmarks and prototypes on real data.
• Define the evaluation framework: agree on how AI systems will be measured.
• Lead through to production: provide senior technical leadership to production outcome.
• Build reusable assets: diagnostics, reference architectures and accelerators.
• Inform the product roadmap: feed customer requirements into Product/Engineering.
