Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cork, Ireland is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer within Employee Engagement Engineering to build and scale web applications across Python, Java backends and React/Vue frontends.

You will own complex problems from API design to data models and deliver reliable, scalable systems powering thousands of Apple employees. You will work with MCP tooling and AI integrations, guide technical direction, and contribute to team-wide engineering quality.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python/Java for backend microservice development with strong API design.
• Frontend experience with TypeScript and a modern framework (React) and/or server-rendered templates.
• Solid knowledge of database design (relational and non-relational).
• Experience with containerization and Kubernetes for production services.

Responsibilities

• Guide the technical direction and implementation of complex features spanning microservices and frontend interfaces.
• Design scalable APIs, data models, and service architectures.
• Drive features through their full lifecycle from concept to deployment and operation.
• Apply and promote engineering best practices across the full stack and improve reliability.
• Identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies with cross-team impact.
• Mentor colleagues across frontend and backend disciplines.
• Contribute to hiring by interviewing candidates and calibrating technical standards.
