Job summary

Workday, Inc. is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to bridge hands-on agent engineering with high-impact customer strategy.

You will architect, build, deploy, and optimize custom AI agents and agentic apps inside live customer environments, working with the Workday Developer Platform stack and security configurations. You will partner with senior executives, drive technical discovery, and influence the product roadmap while mentoring other engineers and shaping deployment patterns

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, or Software Development.
• Hands-on coding and debugging with Python, Java, REST APIs, and OO design.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, deploy, and debug custom AI agents and agentic apps for enterprise deployments.
• Lead technical discovery sessions with senior customer leaders to translate requirements into enterprise-grade builds.
• Provide feedback to product/engineering to improve the developer toolkit and product roadmap.
• Productize field insights into automated, out-of-the-box capabilities with reference architectures.
• Collaborate with fellow FDEs to deliver complete agentic systems and mentor other engineers.
