Job summary

Jobtailor in Dublin is seeking an experienced accountant to take ownership of audit engagements from planning through to completion. You will prepare year-end financial statements under Irish GAAP (FRS 102/FRS 105) and handle CT1, Form 11, VAT, and PAYE returns.

You will liaise with Revenue, assist with CRO filings, manage a portfolio of SME clients, review junior staff work, and mentor trainees while ensuring compliance with Irish standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage client relationships.
• Strong knowledge of Irish tax legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience reviewing bookkeeping and VAT returns.
• Ability to mentor and supervise junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of audit engagements from planning through to completion.
• Prepare year-end financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies under Irish GAAP (FRS 102/FRS 102 1A / FRS 105).
• Prepare and submit CT1, Form 11, VAT and PAYE/Payroll compliance returns.
• Liaise with the Revenue Commissioners on behalf of clients.
• Assist clients with CRO filings, annual returns, and company secretarial compliance.
• Manage a portfolio of SME and owner-managed clients.
• Review bookkeeping and VAT returns prepared by junior staff.
• Mentor and support trainees/junior accountants.
• Ensure compliance with Irish regulatory and professional standards.
