Job summary

Xeinadin Kilkenny is seeking an ambitious Senior Accountant to join our high-performing team. You will lead in statutory reporting, tax compliance, and client management, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to firm processes.

The ideal candidate is fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent) with 2–3 years in practice, strong Irish GAAP knowledge, and a client-focused mindset. This hybrid role offers career development and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
  • 2–3 years post-qualification experience in a practice environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Irish accounting standards and tax compliance.
  • Experience in leading audits and managing client portfolios.
  • Proficiency in Relate, Surf, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with new and established clients.
  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements in line with Irish GAAP (FRS 102, FRS 105).
  • Ensure compliance with Companies Act 2014 and other regulations.
  • Prepare and review management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
  • Oversee preparation and review of corporation tax and income tax returns.
  • Advise clients on VAT, PAYE and other compliance matters.
  • Liaise with Revenue Commissioners on client queries and compliance.
  • Supervise, mentor and review junior staff and trainees.
  • Provide training and technical support as required.
  • Contribute to development of firm procedures and best practices.

Description Our Kilkenny office is expanding and we are looking for an ambitious qualified accountant to join this high performing team. As Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in driving the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who has exposure to working in a practicing firm, responsibilities will include:

  • Building strong relationships with new and established clients
  • Preparation and review of statutory financial statements in accordance with Irish GAAP (FRS 102, FRS 105).
  • Ensure compliance with Companies Act 2014 and other relevant regulations.
  • Preparation and review of management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.

Key Requirements
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2/3 years’ post-qualification experience in a practice environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Irish accounting standards and tax compliance.
  • Experience in leading audits and managing client portfolios.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Relate, Surf, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with attention to detail.
