Job Title: Senior Accountant

Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing general accounting functions including journal preparation, accruals and prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and financial statement preparation. The role requires strong attention to detail, financial analysis, and effective collaboration with the Accounting, Finance teams, and other business departments. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will assist with reporting and ad hoc projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Month-End Close Support: Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all relevant entries are posted accurately and on time.
• Revenue Recognition: Ensure revenue transactions are accurately recorded and in compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606 standards.
• Statutory Audit responsibility: Manage the annual statutory audit for our legal entities in France, Germany and Belgium ensuring compliance with local GAAP.
• VAT and Intra-stat Reporting: Prepare and file monthly returns.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Administration: Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations at month-end, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Using the Blackline reconciliation tool, ensure accurate and timely reconciliation processes across various accounts.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Provide accounting support to the Accounting, Finance teams, and other business units to ensure seamless operation and resolve financial issues.
• Stay up-to-date and follow all Quality System procedures related to this job, which can affect the quality of products or services provided to our customers

Qualifications & Experience

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Membership of a recognised accounting body ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a multinational company with, with hands-on experience in month-end close processes and reconciliations. Experience of statutory accounting and VAT in other European countries an advantage.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (experience with Oracle or similar is a plus).
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and provide solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Collaborative team player; adaptable and comfortable working in a changing and fast paced environment.
• Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Self-starter with willingness to take initiative and follow through on tasks.

Language Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to efficiently present information and respond to questions
