Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited is seeking a Software Development Engineer for Amazon Optics to design, develop, and optimize secure services used across AWS infrastructure. You will own end-to-end delivery in an IaC environment, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with stakeholders to balance customer value with reliability across AWS regions.

This role requires EU citizenship and offers opportunities to contribute to security-focused platforms and cross-team collaboration

Qualifications

Experience (non-internship) in professional software development.
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

Design and implement secure services that protect AWS physical locations, from scoping and design through testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Take ownership of operational excellence, identify root causes, and implement permanent fixes while improving team operations.
Work with stakeholders to understand business and customer value, delivering solutions that balance customer requirements with team objectives.
Actively participate in code reviews, provide meaningful feedback, and contribute to documentation of system construction, testing, and operation.
Automate operational inefficiencies and build scalable solutions across all AWS regions with high quality.
