Role Overview
Signal Fire & Security is looking for an experienced Security Systems Engineer to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and fault-finding of commercial fire and security systems.
We are looking for someone who can work independently, take ownership of projects and represent Signal professionally on customer sites.

Main Responsibilities
- Installation of fire and security systems
- Commissioning new systems
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Planned preventative maintenance
- System upgrades and modifications
- Programming panels, controllers, NVRs and associated equipment
- CCTV camera setup, configuration and optimisation
- Access control door commissioning
- IP addressing and basic network configuration
- Testing systems and completing commissioning documentation
- Reading drawings, specifications and schematics
- Liaising with customers, project managers and other contractors
- Identifying additional works and reporting these back to the office
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and site presentation
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Fire & Security Engineer
- Strong fault-finding ability
- Good understanding of electrical and electronic systems
- Experience working on commercial installations
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Good communication skills
- Professional approach when dealing with customers
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Full clean Irish driving licence
- Ability to complete job sheets and commissioning documentation accurately
- Willingness to travel where required
Desirable
- Fire alarm commissioning experience
- Advanced / Hochiki experience
- Strong access control knowledge
- Networking/IP knowledge
- Experience commissioning larger commercial CCTV systems
- Manufacturer training or certifications
- Safe Pass
- Manual Handling
- MEWP/IPAF training
- Electrical background or qualification
