Job summary

Signal Fire & Security is seeking an experienced Security Systems Engineer to join our expanding team in Dublin. You will install, commission, service and fault-find commercial fire and security systems on site, taking ownership of projects and representing the company professionally on customer sites.

The role covers Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, Intruder, Intercom and IP networking systems. Occasional travel across Ireland and overseas is required, with ongoing opportunities for career

Qualifications

• Experience as a Fire & Security Engineer working on commercial installations.
• Strong fault-finding ability and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with good client communication.

Responsibilities

• Install fire and security systems on customer sites.
• Commission new systems and perform fault finding.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and system upgrades.
• Program panels, controllers, NVRs and related equipment.
• Configure CCTV camera systems and optimise performance.
• Commission access control doors and IP network configurations.
• Read drawings and specifications for proper installation.
• Liaise with customers, project managers and other contractors.
• Identify additional works and report back to the office.
• Maintain high workmanship and site presentation.

Role Overview

Signal Fire & Security is looking for an experienced Security Systems Engineer to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and fault-finding of commercial fire and security systems.

We are looking for someone who can work independently, take ownership of projects and represent Signal professionally on customer sites.

Main Responsibilities

• Installation of fire and security systems
• Commissioning new systems
• Fault finding and diagnostics
• Planned preventative maintenance
• System upgrades and modifications

• Access control door commissioning
• IP addressing and basic network configuration
• Testing systems and completing commissioning documentation

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a Fire & Security Engineer
• Strong fault-finding ability
• Good understanding of electrical and electronic systems
• Experience working on commercial installations
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision
• Good communication skills
• Professional approach when dealing with customers
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Full clean Irish driving licence
• Ability to complete job sheets and commissioning documentation accurately
• Willingness to travel where required

Desirable

• Fire alarm commissioning experience
• Advanced / Hochiki experience
• Strong access control knowledge
• Networking/IP knowledge
• Experience commissioning larger commercial CCTV systems
• Manufacturer training or certifications
• Safe Pass
• Manual Handling
• MEWP/IPAF training
• Electrical background or qualification
