Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Security Assurance to build out automated security observability, compliance, and control management systems. You will write and deploy security policies across SDLC, applications, and infrastructure, working with security engineers, developers, and customers.

You’ll shape automation and tooling to defend systems at scale, collaborating with the broader Grafana team while applying frameworks like ISO/SOC and GDPR.

Qualifications

• Production experience with at least one programming language (Go/TypeScript/Python).
• Experience securing containerized, cloud-native apps, ideally with Kubernetes.
• Experience automating security and compliance processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with peers, stakeholders, auditors, and customers.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, NIST, GDPR; willingness to learn new standards.

Responsibilities

• Be a technical contributor on the GRC team across certifications, application, build, cloud, and supply chain security.
• Develop, implement, and maintain automated security assurance programs for ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, NIST, PCI-DSS, etc.
• Develop systems and methods for security observability to advance beyond mere certification.
• Deploy security checks in workflows and build pipelines to aid engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into SDLC and operations.
• Respond to customer security issues, alerts, and potential incidents.
