Job summary

Canada Life Assurance Europe plc is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a strong Java background to design and implement automation frameworks from scratch using Serenity, Selenium, Cucumber, Rest Assured and JUnit. The role requires building scalable test solutions within an Agile team, supporting continuous delivery and quality across integrations.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
3rd level qualification (honours degree) in a related discipline.
Experience building automation frameworks (from scratch or major extensions).
Strong practical Java development skills and writing unit/integration/BDD tests.

Responsibilities

Define test strategy for new functionality and ensure coverage across functional and non-functional scope.
Develop, maintain and execute automated test cases and frameworks.
Work with Software Engineers to improve testability and code quality.
Operate in a Scrum/Agile team and promote testing best practices.
Contribute to continuous improvement of the CLE Quality Practice.
