Job summary

Canada Life Europe plc is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who is passionate about software quality and has an Agile Tester mindset. You will design and implement automation strategies using Java, Cucumber/Serenity, Rest Assured and Selenium within a Scrum team.

You will work closely with Software Engineers to understand the codebase, improve testability, and promote testing best practices across the CLE Quality Practice, contributing to faster, safer delivery of features.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Honours degree (3rd level) in a related discipline.
• Experience writing automated frameworks using Serenity, Selenium, Cucumber, and Rest Assured.

Responsibilities

• Define test strategy for new functionality and test types.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage for features.
• Build and maintain test automation frameworks.
• Collaborate with developers to understand the codebase and testability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in quality practices.
