Job summary

Amazon is seeking a senior software engineer to design and operate scalable, serverless migration systems for moving workloads to Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL. You will build agent-driven workflows and own the end-to-end migration lifecycle, mentoring peers while addressing reliability, security and performance in a cloud-native environment.

The role spans collaboration across cloud infrastructure, database technologies, and AI/ML, with on-call rotations and a strong emphasis

Qualifications

• Mentor, tech lead or engineering team experience.
• Experience leading architecture and design focused on reliability and scaling.
• Professional software development experience (non-internship).
• Programming in Java, C++, or C# with object-oriented design.
• Development experience in the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, serverless microservices powering the migration lifecycle: assessment, schema conversion, data movement.
• Develop intelligent, agent-driven migration workflows integrating with developer tools and NL interfaces.
• Own end-to-end migration lifecycle from pre-migration assessment to data movement phases.
• Solve distributed systems challenges around reliability, security and performance for customer workloads.
• Work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure and AI/ML to deliver low-friction migration experiences.
• Mentor SDEs through code reviews, design guidance and pair programming.
• Participate in on-call rotations and operational excellence initiatives.
