Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited in Dublin is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to own and deliver features end-to-end. You will design scalable, secure components, review code, and drive reliability improvements across a distributed database management environment.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with product teams, and contribute to AWS RDS SQL Server efforts across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional software development.
• Experience designing or architecting scalable distributed systems.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language and strong SDLC practices (coding standards, reviews, CI/CD).

Responsibilities

• Own and drive design discussions, balancing performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Work on third-party integrations and security capabilities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement both quick fixes and long-term solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate needs into technical deliverables.
