Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited in Dublin is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to own and deliver features end-to-end. You will design scalable, secure components, review code, and drive reliability improvements across a distributed database management environment.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with product teams, and contribute to AWS RDS SQL Server efforts across multiple regions.

Qualifications

Experience in professional software development.
Experience designing or architecting scalable distributed systems.
Proficiency in at least one programming language and strong SDLC practices (coding standards, reviews, CI/CD).

Responsibilities

Own and drive design discussions, balancing performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
Work on third-party integrations and security capabilities.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement both quick fixes and long-term solutions.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and reviews.
Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate needs into technical deliverables.
