Job summary

Cpl Healthcare is seeking Counsellor Therapists to deliver counselling services to children on a sessional basis across multiple counties in Ireland on behalf of the Department of Education.

Counsellors will conduct blocks of eight sessions per referral, adhering to ethical codes, providing professional supervision, and ensuring parental consent and thorough reporting. A recognised Level 7+ degree in a human science plus counselling accreditation is required.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification at Level 7 (or higher) in a relevant human science.
• Counselling/psychotherapy qualification recognised by PSI, ICP, IACP, IAPTP, ACAP or ICP bodies.
• Two years (minimum 150 hours) supervised experience providing counselling to children.
• Professional accredited qualification in child and adolescent counselling.
• Full accredited membership with one of the above bodies.
• Option of one year supervised experience providing counselling to children.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the Code of Ethics of the accrediting body.
• Attend professional supervision while providing counselling.
• Ensure consent and signed referral forms by parents.
• Conduct initial information gathering.
• Issue a summary report of interventions and strategies.
• Maintain professional interactions and confidentiality.
• Engage in data protection and confidentiality of referred child information.
• Support quality assurance and programme evaluation.
