Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation is seeking an Estimator to prepare technical quotations and material take-offs for electrical switchgear and power distribution projects. The role requires reviewing tender documentation and liaising with sales teams, contractors and consultants to deliver competitive proposals.

The incumbent will coordinate with engineering and product teams, prepare technical documentation and manage multiple quotations to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate technical quotations and material take-offs for electrical switchgear and power distribution projects.
• Review tender documentation, specifications and drawings to develop compliant and competitive proposals.
• Liaise with sales teams, contractors, consultants and customers to deliver high-quality quotation solutions.
• Coordinate with internal engineering and product teams to produce complete bid submissions.
• Prepare technical documentation, layout drawings and supporting commercial information.
• Manage multiple quotations, ensuring deadlines and customer requirements are met.
• Process pricing, approvals and quotation records using company systems.
• Support project handovers and manage variation/change order quotations where required.
• Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring compliance with company procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and bid quality.

POSITION SUMMARY

Our company is growing rapidly and is searching for experienced candidates for the position of ESTIMATOR. Reporting to the Bid Strategy Manager this position will present an excellent opportunity and will involve working closely with sales, contractors, consultants and various departments within the organisation

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare accurate technical quotations and material take-offs for electrical switchgear and power distribution projects.
• Review tender documentation, specifications and drawings to develop compliant and competitive proposals.
• Liaise with sales teams, contractors, consultants and customers to deliver high-quality quotation solutions.
• Coordinate with internal engineering and product teams to produce complete bid submissions.
• Prepare technical documentation, layout drawings and supporting commercial information.
• Manage multiple quotations, ensuring deadlines and customer requirements are met.
• Process pricing, approvals and quotation records using company systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2 years minimum exposure in a Sales / Quotation support role ideally within a Manufacturing/Engineering setting with experience gained in liaison with Contractors or Consulting Engineers.

Or

• Hold a related HND/Degree in Engineering/Business coupled with 1 year’s exposure in a Sales / Quotations support role, ideally within a Manufacturing/Engineering setting with experience gained in liaison with Contractors or Consulting Engineers.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous experience in an Electrical Contracting / Engineering/ Estimating background environment though preferable is not essential.
