Rostering Operations Planning Manager

Ryanair is recruiting a Rostering Operations Planning Manager to join our Inflight team of Europe’s largest airline group. This is an excellent time to join Ryanair as we look to grow to over 800 aircraft and 300 million guests within the next 10 years. This role focuses on delivering efficient, compliant and resilient cabin crew rosters in a fast‑moving airline environment. The successful candidate will lead a rostering team, use data to improve planning decisions, and drive optimisation through reporting, automation, BI tools and AI‑enabled process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead short‑term cabin crew rostering in the pre‑operational planning window, ensuring rosters are optimised, compliant and resilient before moving into live operational control.
  • Manage, support and develop the Rostering Operations Planning team, ensuring strong performance, clear priorities and high‑quality delivery.
  • Use data, reporting and BI tools to improve crew coverage, roster quality, productivity, cost efficiency and planning performance.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and apply AI‑enabled tools to improve workflows, query handling and decision‑making.
  • Ensure rosters comply with flight time limitations, fatigue management requirements, company procedures and applicable aviation regulations.
  • Work closely with Crew Control, Training, HR, Inflight Operations and technology teams to support stable operations and improve planning systems.
  • Monitor key planning risks, including crew cover, roster stability, training compliance and operational resilience.
  • Support operational planning projects and provide cover for senior planning colleagues when required.
Requirements
  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving skills, with advanced Excel essential.
  • Experience with BI tools, dashboards, automation, data visualisation or AI‑enabled process improvement is a strong advantage.
  • Previous experience in rostering, workforce planning, operations planning, aviation, logistics, transport or another fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Strong people‑management skills, with the ability to lead, coach and organise a busy team.
  • Clear optimisation mindset, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and turn data into practical improvements.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly around compliance, process and operational risk.
  • A degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, Mathematics, Operations or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of flight time limitations, fatigue management or aviation rostering systems would be an advantage.
Benefits
