Job summary

Breedon Group in Ireland is seeking a Construction Materials Technician to support the quality assurance of quarrying and surfacing products at Aughnacliffe Quarry, Co Longford. You will conduct materials testing both onsite and in the laboratory and maintain accurate electronic records.

The role requires careful sample handling, calibration of testing equipment, and preparation for inspections by accrediting bodies, contributing to safe and efficient lab operations and product quality.

Responsibilities

• To test and sample aggregate, bituminous and unbound and earthworks materials including grading analysis, binder content and physical, chemical and mechanical testing in a safe and efficient manner, both in the laboratory and on contracting sites/plant.
• To conduct daily organoleptic checks for lab, production facilities and all stockpiles
• To maintain a safe and tidy workspace and ensure the efficient running of the laboratory
• To maintain quality standards by following Company and accrediting bodies quality procedures and protocol.
• To record sample details on test record sheets and laboratory software.
• To calibrate all testing equipment.
• To prepare for inspections from independent accrediting bodies
• To undertake daily laboratory equipment checks
