Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking a Construction Material Technician to join Aughnacliffe Quarry, Co Longford. You will support quality assurance for quarrying and surfacing products, conduct onsite and offsite testing, and keep electronic records up to date. The role requires precise testing, calibration and adherence to procedures.

You will work in a busy laboratory environment and on contracting sites, maintaining safety and accuracy while preparing for inspections by accrediting bodies.

Qualifications

• Onsite and offsite materials testing for aggregate, bituminous and earthworks materials.
• Maintain electronic records and test record sheets in the lab and on site.
• Calibrate testing equipment and prepare for accrediting body inspections.

Responsibilities

• Test and sample materials including grading, binder content and physical tests.
• Perform daily organoleptic checks across lab, production facilities and stockpiles.
• Maintain a safe, tidy workspace and efficient laboratory operation.
• Follow quality procedures and document results in laboratory software.
• Record sample details and assist inspections from accrediting bodies.
• Undertake daily laboratory equipment checks.

Overview:

We are currently seeking a Construction Material Technician to join our team at Aughnacliffe Quarry, Co Longford.

As a Construction Material Technician, you will be responsible for efficiently and effectively assisting in the quality assurance of quarrying and surfacing products. To conduct onsite and offsite materials testing and update electronic records.

• To test and sample aggregate, bituminous and unbound and earthworks materials including grading analysis, binder content and physical, chemical and mechanical testing in a safe and efficient manner, both in the laboratory and on contracting sites/plant.
• To conduct daily organoleptic checks for lab, production facilities and all stockpiles
• To maintain a safe and tidy workspace and ensure the efficient running of the laboratory
• To maintain quality standards by following Company and accrediting bodies quality procedures and protocol.
• To record sample details on test record sheets and laboratory software.
• To calibrate all testing equipment.
• To prepare for inspections from independent accrediting bodies
