Job summary

Breedon Group is seeking a Construction Materials Technician to join our Rossmore Quarry team in County Cork. The role will involve onsite testing of bituminous products and related materials, ensuring compliance with quality procedures and recording data for site operations.

You will work closely with the contract surfacing division, perform daily equipment checks, and support other contracts in the southern region as needed. A full driving licence and flexible availability are required.

Qualifications

• Educated to Leaving certificate standard (or equivalent).
• Experience of working in a team environment, providing information and support to colleagues.
• Ability to be flexible in working hours, working night shifts or weekends if required.
• Driving licence to enable the post holder to fulfil the duties of the role.
• Desirable: On-site testing experience on highway contracts and surfacing.

Responsibilities

• Test and sample aggregate, bituminous and unbound materials, including records, temperature checks and compaction testing.
• Maintain a safe and tidy workspace and keep equipment maintained.
• Follow quality procedures and accreditation protocols.
• Record sample details on test sheets and electronic systems.
• Assist with calibration of testing equipment.
• Prepare for inspections from independent accrediting bodies.
• Provide technical cover for other contracts within Southern Ireland.
