Job summary

Weltec Engineering is seeking an experienced Rigid Truck Driver to support our Mechanical and Electrical engineering operations across Europe. You will safely transport materials and equipment to sites using a company vehicle, while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

The role involves local and regional driving, daily vehicle checks, load securing, and assisting engineering teams on site.

Qualifications

• Full Irish driving licence – Category C.
• Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
• Previous experience operating rigid trucks in construction, engineering, or logistics environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate a company rigid truck (Category C) transporting M&E materials, tools, plant, and equipment to and from sites, suppliers and depots.
• Carry out local and regional driving in accordance with road traffic laws.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Secure loads and comply with load restraint and weight regulations.
• Maintain delivery documentation and tachograph records.
• Load and unload materials manually or with mechanical aids.
• Assist mechanical and electrical teams with site tasks.
• Follow site health, safety and environmental procedures.

The Rigid Truck Driver supports M&E engineering operations by safely transporting materials and equipment to sites using a company vehicle.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Safely operate a company rigid truck (Category C) transporting M&E materials, tools, plant, and equipment to and from construction sites, suppliers, and depots

Carry out local and regional driving in accordance with road traffic laws.

Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects in line with company procedures

Secure loads correctly and ensure compliance with load restraint and weight regulations

Maintain delivery documentation, tachograph records, and basic transport paperwork

Load and unload materials manually or using mechanical aids

Assist mechanical and electrical teams with general site support duties

Distribute materials, pipework, containment, and equipment on active construction sites

Follow site-specific health, safety, and environmental procedures always

Maintain a tidy, safe working environment in vehicles, workshops, and on site

Represent the company professionally when attending client sites

Key Skills and Competencies

Full Irish driving licence – Category C

Valid safe pass & manual handling

Previous experience operating rigid trucks within construction, engineering, industrial, or logistics environments.

Strong awareness of safety and safe systems of work
