Job summary

Vision Ireland is seeking a Store Manager for the Carrick-on-Shannon store to lead a diverse retail team, drive turnover, manage key KPIs, and uphold high standards in customer service and visual merchandising. You will recruit and develop staff and volunteers, oversee stock, cash handling, and health and safety, and contribute to community fundraising while promoting the Vision Ireland brand locally.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed ongoing retail store sales targets
• Ensure that all visual merchandising standards are attractive and in line with weekly changes
• Recruitment and development of all staff, volunteers, and social activation scheme employees
• Ensure adequate staffing cover at all times to meet business needs
• Ensure goods are of excellent quality and the store is clean and professional
• Manage donated goods presentation including pricing, tagging, cleaning and stock rotation
• Oversee store accounting procedures including banking and till/cash handling
• Take responsibility for inventory and security of equipment and fittings
• Lead and support store/community fundraising events
• Promote Vision Ireland brand across local channels adhering to brand standards
• Ensure health and safety compliance including training and fire safety

Job Title: Retail Store Manager

Location: Carrick-on-Shannon Vision Ireland Store, Co. Leitrim.

Contract Type: Full Time, Specified Purpose Contract, covering Maternity Leave, expected to being November 2026.

Work schedule: 37.5 hours per week

Reporting to: Retail Area Manager

Job Summary:

Our extensive Retail Operation of 130 nationwide Stores provide support and critical funds to meet the essential services of the 55,000 sight loss client users across the island of Ireland.

As Store Manager you will be responsible for a strong team tasked with driving both turnover and revenues in our Carrick-on-Shannon store. You will be tasked with supervising financial KPIs, including sales, wages, and shrinkage, together with customer service/feedback, visual merchandising, retail standards, and administrative compliance.

The success of the store is based on becoming a part of the local community and its ability to build excellent relationships with the in-store team, its local surrounding area and network of stores.

Principal Duties:

• Meet and exceed ongoing retail store sales targets.
• Ensure that all visual merchandising standards are attractive and in line with weekly changes in accordance with celebratory and promotional events.
• Recruitment and development of all staff, volunteers, and social activation scheme employees to enhance a positive collegial atmosphere with particular attention to customer service.
• Ensure adequate staffing cover at all times to meet the needs of the business and daily / weekly trading periods.
• Ensure that all goods offered for sale are of excellent quality and that the store is kept clean and professional in appearance at all times.
• Undertake responsibility for all donated goods and ensure proper presentation when displayed on the shop floor, to include pricing, ticketing, cleaning, ironing, and stock rotation.
• Manage the shop accounting procedures including banking, till receipts, transactions and cash handling procedures are adhered to at all times.
• Full responsibility for inventory and security of all equipment and fittings on the shop floor and extended premises.
• Take an active lead and support for all on-going store and community-based fundraising events.
• Promotion of the Vision Ireland brand through a variety of local channels in a cost-effective manner whilst ensuring communications are in keeping with brand standards.
• Responsibility for all health and safety in accordance with statutory obligations to include training, adherence to fire procedures and maintenance of all safety and first aid equipment.
