Our client is a household name in the Non-Food Retail sector, with high-profile stores nationwide and an exciting growth strategy for 2027 and beyond. Following a successful 2026, they are seeking an experienced Department Manager with a background in high-volume, big-box retail or DIY. Located on a convenient commuter belt and just a 20 mins drive from Malahide and 15 mins drive from Marino and Finglas and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sales performance, profit margins, and commercial targets, with the ability to motivate their team, maximise sales opportunities, and drive business growth. This job also requires delivering excellent customer service, maintaining high visual merchandising standards, and ensuring effective stock and inventory management. You will also be confident in handling customer and employee queries professionally, taking a proactive, positive, and solutions-focused approach. Key Responsibilities ofRetail Department Manager North Dublin

• Work closely with senior management to drive department sales, maintain high store standards, and maximise team performance.
• Ensure consistent compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards across the department.
• Take ownership of department stock management, inventory accuracy, and ordering, proactively investigating discrepancies and coaching team members on effective stock control practices.
• Drive sales and enhance customer engagement through creative merchandising, impactful promotions, and attractive product displays.
• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of your department(s), leading, motivating, and developing your team while overseeing staff scheduling, stock management, and customer feedback.
• Manage customer queries and complaints professionally, ensuring timely and effective resolutions in line with company policies.
• Lead store operations during management shifts, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the store.
• Act as a key point of contact for team members, providing guidance on staff queries, addressing grievances, and supporting performance management and development.

Requirements forRetail Department Manager North Dublin

• Minimum of 3 years' retail management experience, ideally within a fast-paced, customer-focused retail environment.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage team performance while confidently and professionally resolving challenging situations.
• Strong knowledge of retail systems, sales analysis, stock control, and the ordering and management of large or bulky products.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure retail environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities while maintaining high standards.
• Excellent organisational, planning, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Flexibility to work management shifts, including store openings and closes, within typical operating hours of 9am-9pm.
