Job summary

Blue Forge Recruitment is seeking an experienced Retail Department Manager for a high-volume store in South Dublin. The role focuses on driving department sales, maintaining store standards and inventory control, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-4 years' retail management experience in big-box or DIY environments.
• Confident, inspiring people leader with ability to motivate teams and manage performance.
• Strong knowledge of retail operations, sales analysis, stock control, merchandising, and ordering large/bulky products.

Responsibilities

• Support senior management to drive department sales, store standards, and team performance.
• Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures across your team.
• Manage department stock and inventory, investigate discrepancies and coach staff.
• Drive customer engagement and sales through creative merchandising, promotions, and displays.
• Take ownership of your department, lead, motivate, and develop your team while managing schedules, stock, and customer feedback.
• Handle customer queries and complaints in line with company policies.
• Lead store operations during shifts, including opening/closing and day-to-day running of the store.
• Act as a point of contact for staff queries, grievances, and performance management.
