Job summary

Blue Forge Recruitment partners with a leading non-food retailer to recruit an experienced Retail Assistant Manager for a high-volume store in Co. Dublin.

The role focuses on driving sales, leading teams, and delivering exceptional customer experiences in a busy, multi-department environment. The ideal candidate has 4–5 years of retail management experience, strong KPI and budget control skills, and proficiency with Retail IT systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4–5 years of retail management experience, ideally in big-box or DIY retail.
• Proficient in KPI management, sales targets, budgets and shrinkage and labour spend.
• Experience using Retail IT systems to understand stock and sales trends.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior member of management, supporting the Store manager to achieve sales and other commercial objectives
• Ensure your teams abide by all company policies and procedures
• Manage stock inventory, taking a proactive approach in investigating discrepancies and train staff and management on proper inventory management
• Be creative and innovative by studying and implementing advertising, sales promotion, and display plans.
• Take ownership in the store to effectively manage the stores controllable costs to keep operations profitable.
• Maintaining store staff by recruiting, selecting, and training new staff, in conjunction with the HR department.
• Dealing with customer queries and complaints as per the company policies.
• Act as a point of contact for staff grievances, requests and performance issues

Following a successful 2026, they are seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager with a background in high-volume, big-box retail or DIY.
Located within a strong commuter belt, making it easily accessible by bus and train for candidates based in South Dublin and the surrounding areas. It is also approximately a 30-minute drive from Wicklow and Celbridge.

Requirements forRetail Assistant Manager Job Co. Dublin

• A good trek record of employment, good longevity in your work history and a Minimum of 4-5 years of retail management experience, ideally within a big box commercial retail business.
• Must be completely competent in KPI management, sales targets, budgets and shrinkage and labour spend
• Proficient using Retail IT systems to understand stock and sales trends
• Excellent people skills with the ability to lead and motivate large teams of up to 50 under your management across different departments.
• The ability to work in high-pressure situations and achieve results
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic with a high level of confidence.
• A strong work ethic.
