Job summary

Gourmet Food Parlour seeks a Restaurant Supervisor for Brown Thomas in Dublin city centre. You will lead two store locations within the Brown Thomas site, oversee daily operations, and ensure top-level service.

Ideal candidates have hands-on leadership, strong customer focus, and experience with EPOS systems. The role requires flexibility for weekends and high-traffic periods within a busy hospitality environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a Supervisor or similar hospitality management role.
  • Strong Front of House and customer service experience.
  • Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Good understanding of restaurant operations and HACCP standards.
  • Experience with EPOS and computer systems; willingness to learn new systems and software.
  • Barista or bar experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and busy trading periods.
  • Good level of spoken and written English.
  • Valid work permit/EU passport essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day running of the restaurants and coordinate operations during each shift.
  • Lead, support and motivate the Front of House team, ensuring high standards of service are maintained.
  • Welcome customers and ensure they receive a warm and professional experience throughout their visit.
  • Take and process orders accurately through the EPOS system and ensure timely delivery of food and drinks.
  • Manage sections of the restaurant and ensure customer needs and special requirements are handled effectively.
  • Deal confidently and professionally with customer queries, complaints and issues.
  • Support the management team with restaurant financials, cash handling and daily controls.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, training and development.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with stock control.
  • Ensure HACCP, food safety, cleaning, health and safety and company standards are consistently maintained.
  • Liaise with the Operations and Reservations teams to ensure the smooth running of the restaurant.
  • Work closely with key clients to ensure reservations and events are delivered to a high standard.
  • Communicate effectively with the General Manager and wider management team regarding the running of each shift.
  • Support the team during busy periods and lead by example across all areas of the restaurant.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, presentation and personal hygiene standards are followed.

Gourmet Food Parlour has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, hardworking and enthusiastic Restaurant Supervisor to join our team in our Brown Thomas location in Dublin city centre.

We are looking for a confident and customer-focused supervisor who enjoys leading a team, delivering excellent service and ensuring the smooth running of two locations within the store, Browns Brasserie and Edition Cafe. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on, organised and able to remain calm and positive in a busy environment, while supporting the team and developing our people.
