Job summary

Ashdale Care (Ireland) Limited is seeking an entry-level childcare role to support young people with complex, emotional and behavioural needs. The role emphasizes building genuine connections, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and working closely with families and professionals to support each young person.

As part of a dedicated team, you will participate in care planning, observe safeguarding policies, and contribute to daily routines, outings, and activities that promote healing

Responsibilities

• Cultivate genuine and caring connections with the young people and engage with families with dignity and respect.
• Promote a welcoming, safe, caring, stable and therapeutic environment.
• Advocate for the rights and responsibilities of each young person and support their wellbeing.
• Supervise outings from the home and undertake daily household activities (cooking, cleaning) as positive modelling.
• Actively participate in working within the Model of Therapeutic Care.
• Be physically able to support with challenging behaviours when needed.
• Provide emotional support during difficult times and encourage participation in care and placement planning.
• Collaborate with social workers, educators, guardians and family members.
• Maintain consistent execution of childcare plans and complete/maintain records and reports as required.
• Take on key worker duties including handling petty cash and serving as a point of contact for professionals and family.
