Job summary

Stewarts Care Ltd. seeks a Person in Charge for Residents Services to lead a designated centre, ensuring a high quality, person-centred service aligned with HIQA and Health Act requirements.

You will manage staff and resources, implement governance systems, and ensure safeguarding and risk management processes are robust and up to date. You will oversee resident assessments, care plans, and family engagement, while driving continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or have completed a Social Care Degree (Level 8 Desirable) and be registered with CORU or near completion of CORU registration.
• Meet the requirements of the Health Act (2007) Regulations (2013) with regard to the requirements of a Person in Charge
• Have a strong working knowledge of the HIQA Standards and Health Act (2007) and associated Regulations and Guidance, and knowledge of national policies in the disability sector.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care.
• 3-5 years’ experience in the disability sector would be an advantage
• A management qualification would be an advantage
• Have excellent computer literacy and information technology skills.
• Possess excellent report writing skills.
• Have an up to date, valid Irish Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Discharge the PIC role in line with HIQA, Health Act and Regulations.
• Manage resources effectively and deploy them appropriately.
• Implement management systems ensuring safe, high-quality, person-centred service.
• Maintain up-to-date Risk Register and escalate risks promptly.
• Ensure safeguarding systems and policies are implemented.
• Ensure resident assessments and care plans are current and communicated.
• Oversee staff performance, HR processes, and monthly meetings.
• Ensure roster accuracy and payroll data flow (TMS) and monitor attendance.
