Job summary

Pfizer Process Development Centre in Cork, Ireland is seeking a Research Chemist to join a multi-disciplinary team working with leading edge technology. The role requires attendance at the Cork facility and offers career development and opportunities to travel to other Pfizer sites.

The candidate will apply synthetic chemistry to support API processes, contribute to process development projects, and ensure safe operation of facilities.

Qualifications

• PhD in synthetic chemistry is required.
• Extensive knowledge of synthetic chemistry and reaction mechanisms.
• Knowledge of process development and scale-up principles, process validation, and technology transfers.
• Experience with impurity isolation/identification and impurity control is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Apply synthetic chemistry and mechanistic expertise to support commercial API processes.
• Design and maintain safe, efficient, robust processes including validation batches.
• Contribute innovative chemistry ideas to global process development projects.
• Demonstrate problem solving delivering chemistry and process understanding.
• Investigate new technologies to add value to Pfizer Global Supply.
• Prepare reports, memos and experiments to high standards and deadlines.
• Support continuous improvement of the PDC chemistry program.
• Ensure ongoing safe operation of PDC facilities.
