Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join a cloud adoption and IT operations team.

This fully remote role is based in Ireland, providing first-level operational support, monitoring, and troubleshooting Linux and Windows systems across web servers, load balancers, TLS, and databases to ensure service stability and performance. You will optimise configurations, improve processes, and share expertise with colleagues, with a focus on reliability and documentation.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of IT operations experience beyond education/internships.
• Hands-on Linux with kernel tuning, filesystem management, and config.
• Strong Windows experience, including Active Directory and system configuration.
• Experience with Traefik, NGINX, Envoy or Apache and load-balancing tech.
• Knowledge of MariaDB, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL databases.
• Understanding TLS termination and security basics.
• Structured, proactive problem-solving and documentation.
• Excellent English and Spanish communication; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first contact for requests and alerts in a first-level operations team.
• Configure, maintain, optimise Linux/Windows systems and AD integration.
• Operate web servers and load balancers (Traefik/NGINX/Envoy/Apache).
• Manage TLS certificates and support database environments (MariaDB/MS SQL/ PostgreSQL).
• Monitor performance, investigate issues, and improve reliability.
• Suggest improvements to configurations, architectures, and procedures.
• Collaborate to share knowledge and support continuous improvement.
• Train and onboard new teammates; document activities and hours.
• Participate in rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
