Job summary

Paddle is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to help drive reliability across the platform. You’ll own automation, incident response, and production readiness while collaborating with product teams to reduce toil.

The role emphasizes AWS services, distributed systems, and a strong focus on observability and cost optimization. You’ll work with Go, Docker, Terraform and modern tooling to improve reliability, performance, and deployment pipelines.

Qualifications

• Strong software development background with production experience, testing, code review, CI/CD, and debugging.
• Experience across AWS ecosystem, designing and operating production systems.
• Interest in AI’s impact on development and a collaborative, security-minded mindset.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment and write reliable, maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain tools to maximize engineering efficiency, including deployment automation and DB upgrades.
• Automate processes and improve Developer Experience across teams.
• Design and test disaster recovery tooling and processes.
• Leverage AI tools to support day‑to‑day work with proper guardrails.
• Handle production incidents and create blameless postmortems and runbooks.
• Monitor, alert, and track SLOs with hands-on SRE work.
• Run performance investigations and optimize across apps, data stores and AWS.
• Own cost optimization across ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, and observability.
• Advocate for GitOps practices.
