Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, seeks a Lead Software Engineer in Ireland. You’ll own features end-to-end across Node.js, React, and TypeScript, balancing hands-on coding with architectural leadership.

You’ll design scalable APIs, implement secure auth, and drive code quality with automated tests, CI/CD, and reviews. Remote, full-time role with a Melbourne-time schedule and international collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of professional software engineering experience across frontend and backend.
• Advanced proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with React 18+ and modern patterns.
• Experience with automated testing (Vitest/Jest).
• Strong SQL and relational DB knowledge.
• Familiarity with Docker and container-based development.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, maintain, and improve high-quality web apps using Node.js, TS, and React 18+.
• Take ownership of end-to-end features from design to deployment.
• Design and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and external integrations.
• Create responsive, accessible UIs using React and Tailwind CSS.
• Implement secure authentication with OAuth/OIDC and sessions.
• Maintain engineering standards with automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Write efficient SQL queries for performance and scalability.
• Use Git effectively and participate in collaborative workflows.
• Incorporate AI-powered development tools to boost productivity while ensuring quality.
• Operate within Linux-based environments and collaborate across teams.
