Job summary

Elite Talent Hub in Malahide is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a client-focused consultancy. You will manage costs from planning to final accounts, liaising with clients and contractors across Irish projects.

Remote-first with 1–2 days in the Malahide office, with excellent progression opportunities. The role requires a QS degree, post-graduate experience, and strong knowledge of Irish contracts and BOQ preparation using Buildsoft/Cubit and Excel.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• Relevant post-graduate experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management.
• Experience within a PQS consultancy, multidisciplinary construction consultancy or contractor environment.
• Strong knowledge of Irish construction contracts, particularly RIAI contracts.
• Experience in cost planning, tender preparation, procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Proficiency in Buildsoft/Cubit, Microsoft Excel and cost reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates and project budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce full Bills of Quantities in accordance with the current Irish Agreed Rules of Measurement.
• Prepare tender documentation, manage tender processes and evaluate contractor submissions.
• Support procurement strategies, contractor selection and subcontractor appointments.
• Prepare and assess interim valuations, cost reports and financial forecasts.
• Review, assess and negotiate variations, claims and final accounts.
• Support the administration of construction contracts, including RIAI forms of contract.
• Monitor project expenditure, identify commercial risks and provide cost management advice.
• Liaise with clients, design consultants, contractors and internal Project Managers.
• Provide commercial input during project planning, design development, construction and handover.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting and maintain comprehensive project cost documentation.
