Job summary

Grafana Labs, in Ireland, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the Application Security Engineering team, developing security strategies for cloud-based SaaS and guiding the secure path across engineering efforts.

You will mentor engineers, review threat models, and drive risk-based decisions, collaborating across product and security leadership to scale security practices for Grafana Labs’ OSS and SaaS offerings.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a security engineering team.
• Strong engineering background with the ability to engage in technical conversations.
• Familiarity with securing AWS, GCP, Azure and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of AI tooling and its security implications.
• DevOps mindset with automation and guardrails.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience securing OSS and SaaS products.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Application Security team covering app security, cloud security, and internal tooling.
• Own vulnerability management coordination with internal and external reporters.
• Provide technical coaching, drive incidents, and contribute to design reviews.
• Define and implement engineering security strategy with leadership and stakeholders.
• Mentor team members, provide feedback, and maintain high standards.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to influence product strategy and roadmaps.
• Engage in significant incidents including preparation, response, and customer communications.
• Review design documents to ensure projects are well-defined before development.
