Toptal is a fully remote company connecting top talent with clients globally. The Data Analytics Engineer will own and maintain the data transformation layer, govern data quality, and build AI-enabled data systems. This role requires daily SQL, independent thinking, and collaboration with Data Engineers and Business Analysts.

You will drive data modeling, documentation, and governance while enabling data-driven decisions across the organization in a distributed, remote-first environment.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years shipping production data models as Analytics/Data Engineer or Data Analyst.
• Expert-level SQL and working knowledge of Python.
• Fluency with LLMs and agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalents).
• Experience with cloud data warehousing (BigQuery, Snowflake) and modern transformation frameworks (dbt, Dataform, SQLMesh).

Mansioni

• Design, write, review and ship SQL models transforming raw data into usable data products.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to add and model new data sources.
• Monitor data warehouse and extract insights to improve data operations and quality.
• Translate business asks into modeled data and establish grain and edge cases.
• Document data dictionaries and ensure semantic layer accuracy.
• Review teammates' code to maintain production hygiene.
