Qualifications

• 1+ years of professional production experience or equivalent through internship or junior projects.
• Strong knowledge of Maya including animation layers and Graph Editor.
• Solid understanding of realistic body mechanics, timing and movement.
• Understanding of character body and facial performance.
• Familiarity with cinematography principles and visual storytelling.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to receive feedback and continue developing your craft.
• Ability to work independently within a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Creating high-quality character animation for in-game vignettes, cinematics and scripted sequences.
• Working with hand-keyed animation techniques and motion capture data.
• Integrating, testing and refining animations directly within Unreal Engine.
• Using Sequencer, animation montages, animation layers and Unreal cinematic plug-ins.
• Collaborating with designers, riggers, programmers and fellow animators to balance visual quality with gameplay requirements.
• Creating character performances that strengthen emotion and impact of narrative sequences.
• Assisting with motion capture shoots, data processing and animation cleanup.
• Troubleshooting animation and implementation issues with senior team members.
• Responding to feedback and iterating to achieve the desired result.
• Learning and adapting to proprietary tools, pipelines and workflows.
