Job summary

The Rehab Group is seeking a Relief Instructor at NLN Cork on a fixed-term contract. The role focuses on training learners per QQI curricula and supporting their progression towards QQI certifications, while maintaining the training programme.

Ideal candidates will hold a third-level qualification in Education/Training or Social Sciences and QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer, with experience in QQI processes and a commitment to inclusive teaching practices.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Education/Training or Social Sciences.
• QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer minimum.
• Several years of relevant occupational experience with learners.
• Experience in QQI certification and accreditation processes.
• Ability to motivate learners to achieve QQI Level 3 outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide systematic training according to specified curricula, with responsibility for instruction of modules for QQI Level certification 3-5.
• Facilitate participants in developing knowledge, skills and confidence to secure progression outcomes.
• Meet key performance indicators in relation to learner placement, progression and certification targets.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders to maintain programme allocations.

Relief Instructor

Fixed Term Contract (Variable) Contract (12 Months)

Salary from:19,48 per hour.

Job Purpose

The Relief Instructor is responsible for the training and development of Learners in accordance with the agreed local training programme specifications, together with the day-to-day running and maintenance of all aspects of the training programmes The Instructor assists Learners with additional support needs in exploring their future career and educational direction and in making realistic vocational choices with a view to progressing to further education/employment.

What we’re looking for:

• Third level qualification, preferably within the Education/Training or Social Sciences sector
• A relevant pedagogical/training qualification – Train the Trainer QQI Level 6 as minimum
• A number of years relevant occupational experience of working with learners in educational, guidance and/or developmental contexts
• Experience in working in a mental health related area is an advantage
• Experience in QQI certification and accreditation processes
• An ability to motivate learners to achieve necessary Learning Outcomes at QQI Levels 3

Your Responsibilities

• Provide systematic training according to specified curricula, with responsibility for the instruction of a number of modules for QQI Level certification 3-5
• Facilitate participants in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to secure progression outcomes

• As part of a team liaise appropriately with relevant key stakeholders in maintaining programme allocations
