Job summary

PartnerRe in Dublin seeks a Reinsurance Underwriting Analyst to provide analytical and reporting support. You will work with BUs to improve underwriting reporting, partner with executives, and help manage non-life production planning and quarterly outlooks.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of experience in underwriting operations or related reporting roles, strong Excel/Power BI skills, and a business-focused engineering or finance background.

Job Summary:

This position is in the Group Planning & Performance Management department. Our mandate is to provide analytical and reporting support for all of PartnerRe. This position will be based in our Dublin office. As a Reinsurance Underwriting Analyst you will be assigned to specific Business Units (BUs) and support their management with Underwriting Reporting and Analysis tasks.

About the role:

• Act as Business Partner to Division CEOs and their leadership teams (e.g., improving the impact and understanding of our underwriting reporting on business performance, providing analysis and insights that support business decisions and ensuring that underwriting targets are met)
• Collaborate effectively across multiple functions within PartnerRe, including market-facing Underwriting, Underwriting Operations, Re/insurance Accounting, Finance
• Manage the creation of PartnerRe’s non-life production plan on an Underwriting Year basis
• Produce PartnerRe’s non-life outlook (i.e., extrapolate the production numbers on a quarterly basis)
• Support BU teams in the preparation of the quarterly Ops Review, i.e., a quarterly 360-degree review of a BU’s performance across all key functions within PartnerRe
• Review and challenge the quarterly premium estimate updates performed by BUs’ underwriters
• Assess the credit worthiness of our clients
• Assist with commutation activities as needed
• Support internal and external audit requests as needed

Qualifications:

Technical Skills

• Advanced Analytical Expertise: Demonstrated success in leveraging data to drive insights and inform strategic decisions.
• Tool Proficiency: Experienced Excel user (including advanced formulas and pivot tables), Power Query, and Power BI for efficient data transformation, visualization, and reporting.
• Data Interpretation: Skilled in analyzing complex datasets, identifying trends, and presenting actionable insights.

Work Experience

• Re/insurance knowledge: Good understanding of the insurance or reinsurance value chain, typical KPIs, and concepts like quota share and excess of loss treaties.
• At least 5-10 years of overall work experience, including at least 2-5 years of relevant work experience in underwriting operations, finance or other reporting roles.

Education

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent education or experience in a business discipline.
• Masters Degree and/or insurance industry designations (e.g., CIP, APA, etc.) are a plus.
