Job summary

Mayo County Council invites applications for the position of Senior Executive Architect. The successful candidate will join the Architects Section responsible for designing and managing construction projects and related works essential to the County’s development.

The role requires an RIAI registered architect or eligibility for registration, with 5+ years of relevant experience and strong knowledge of urban design and planning policy.

Qualifications

• RIAI Registered Architect or eligible for registration without further assessment.
• 5+ years satisfactory relevant experience of architectural work.
• knowledge of the principles of Urban Design and planning policy and practice
• experience in the design of buildings, the preparation of sketch plans, working drawings, details and specifications
• satisfactory knowledge of public service organisation or the ability to acquire such knowledge

Responsibilities

• Designing and managing construction projects and other ancillary works required for the successful development of the County.
• Working in the areas of Housing, Regeneration, Public Realm, Urban Renewal, Planning projects.

Mayo County Council invites applications from suitably qualified persons who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel from which permanent & fixed-term contract vacancies for the position of Senior Executive Architect shall be drawn.

The successful candidate will join the Architects Section within the Council with responsibility for designing and managing construction projects and other ancillary works required for the successful development of the County, in the areas of, but not limited to Housing, Regeneration, Public Realm, Urban Renewal, Planning projects.
