Job summary

GemPool Recruitment is seeking a Regional Planning Manager to join a Tier-1 international M&E contractor's Dublin leadership team. You will lead the regional planning department, establish governance, and manage portfolio risk across a 5+ year pipeline of major Data Centre, Life Science, and Renewable Energy projects.

Reporting to the Group Operations Director, you will mentor Senior/Lead Planners and drive planning standards across all active sites.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of planning and project controls experience in pharma, industrial or data centre projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the regional planning & project controls team across major project portfolios.
• Drive group wide planning standards, WBS/CBS frameworks, and governance across sites.
• Conduct monthly risk reviews to evaluate schedule health and forecast outcomes.
• Act as internal consultant to stabilise and recover distressed projects.
• Consolidate monthly reports and present portfolio risk insights to executives.

About the Opportunity:

GemPool has been retained by a Tier-1 international M&E contractor to recruit a Regional Planning Manager to join their Dublin leadership team.

Reporting directly to the Group Operations Director, this role is responsible for leading the Regional Planning Department, establishing group planning governance, and managing portfolio risk across a 5+ year pipeline of major Data Centre, Life Science, and Renewable Energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, scale, and mentor the regional planning & project controls team across major project portfolios.
• Drive group wide planning standards, WBS/CBS frameworks, and operational governance across all active sites.
• Conduct monthly risk reviews with Operations Managers and PMs to evaluate schedule health, forecast project outcomes, and implement risk mitigations.
• Act as an expert internal consultant to stabilise and recover complex or distressed projects.
• Consolidate monthly business unit reports and present strategic portfolio risk/opportunity insights to executive directors.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of planning and project controls experience within pharma, industrial or data centre projects.
• Expert proficiency in Primavera P6, Earned Value Analysis, and quantitative risk modeling.
• Proven track record leading planning departments and mentoring Senior/Lead Planners.
• Strong commercial and operational acumen with the ability to influence Senior Operations Managers and Directors.
