Job summary

Musgrave Group Plc in Waterford is seeking a General Manager to oversee the MarketPlace Branch and regional operations. You will lead a senior team, shape growth and profitability, and drive customer-focused strategies across collect, delivered and online channels.

You will build strong relationships with foodservice and retail customers, manage pricing and costs, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering exceptional service and sustainable performance for the group.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in a senior management position including management of a senior team.
• Experience of managing a large retail/wholesale business is essential.
• Previous exposure to IR negotiations at a senior level.
• Understands and is familiar with the grocery retail and/or foodservice markets.
• A proven track record of delivering commercial results in a fast moving business environment.
• Third level qualification – business or finance.
• Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement growth and profit strategy for the MarketPlace region.
• Build strong influential relationships with foodservice and retail customers.
• Deliver profitable sales and grow customer loyalty.
• Ensure pricing decisions contribute to margin are managed within policy.
• Plan, agree and achieve branch budget targets.
• Manage debtors within policy guidelines and terms.
• Develop and implement cost-reduction initiatives to reduce branch operating costs.
• Maximise branch cash contribution through stock, capex and debtors.
• Achieve and improve all site operational KPIs and ensure compliance.
• Use management information systems to support decision making.
