• Report faults or breakdowns of the vehicle or refrigeration equipment immediately.

Polar Express Refrigerated Logistics of Westport, County Mayo F28 Y751 is looking for a refrigerated HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) driver who is responsible for transporting temperature-controlled goods such as food, pharmaceuticals, and other perishable products while maintaining the correct temperature throughout the journey.Main Duties of a Refrigerated HGV Driver

Main Duties

• Conduct vehicle checks before departure, including refrigeration unit inspections.
• Load and secure cargo safely, ensuring goods are protected and temperature requirements are met.
• Monitor and maintain refrigeration temperatures during transit.
• Complete deliveries and collections according to schedules and customer requirements.
• Keep accurate records of temperatures, delivery notes, tachograph data, and vehicle checks.
• Comply with driving regulations, including drivers' hours, working time rules, and road traffic laws.
• Report faults or breakdowns of the vehicle or refrigeration equipment immediately.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are followed where applicable.
• Communicate with transport planners, customers, and depot staff regarding delivery status or delays.
• Carry out basic vehicle cleaning and maintenance checks to keep the truck and trailer in good condition.
• Use temperature monitoring systems and maintain audit trails for sensitive loads.
