Job summary

AECOM in Dublin is hiring a Cost Engineer for Rail projects to lead budgeting, cost control, and procurement across project lifecycles. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise costs, mitigate risks, and ensure financial governance.

The role supports integrated planning and continuous improvement within the cost management function, with a hybrid work model and a focus on delivering value for major infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in construction cost management.
• Strong budgeting, cost planning, forecasting, and reporting knowledge.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain cost control processes for budgets, expenditure, forecasts and financial performance.
• Prepare and manage project budgets ensuring alignment with objectives and funding.
• Oversee procurement activities across the lifecycle including tendering and contract administration.
• Prepare and evaluate tender documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Produce cost reports with forecasts and variance analyses for senior management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated planning and cost management.
• Monitor project cost objectives and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Identify and mitigate cost-related risks to minimise exposure.
• Conduct cost analyses to find value improvements and cost optimisations.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and internal policies.
