Job summary

Greyhound Racing Ireland (GRI) in Dublin is seeking a Racing Support Officer to join the Racing Operations team at Shelbourne Park. This permanent, full-time position offers 37.5 hours per week across five days, including weekends, with on-site duties at Shelbourne Park.

Qualifications

• Experience in a demanding role requiring problem solving and analytical thinking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Fluent English with strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop a detailed understanding of racing operations, regulations, welfare standards and track operations.
• Supervise racing operations on race days or nights as well as daytime and evening trials.
• Oversee grounds and maintenance to ensure safety and a high standard racing surface.
• Overseeing maintenance of track equipment, kennels and related racing hardware.
• Involvement in planning and promotion of Racing and Classic events.
• Operate the greyhound grading system, the RMS and the electronic trials booking system.
• Ensure competitive grading to maximise Tote and SIS type race broadcasting protocols.
• Seek and secure sponsorship for race events and manage local sponsorship relationships.
• Deal with owners and trainers professionally with a focus during trials and race nights.
• Liaise with industry stakeholders and representative bodies.
• Implement Rules and Regulations of Racing.
• Participate in welfare initiatives including rehoming of greyhounds.
• Take entries for racing and greyhound trials.
• Promote Stadium products to potential customers.
• Participate in Health, Safety and Welfare Management.
• Comply with RCÉ procedures including Fire, Health and Safety, hygiene, internal audits.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks as assigned by management.
