Job summary

Stryker Ireland is launching a 24-month R&D Graduate Programme starting September 2027. The programme rotates every six months through Design Advanced Operations, Research and Technology Development, Advanced Quality Engineering, and Engineering Services (CAD/Prototype/Test Lab).

• Handover of new processes from development to production.

Work Flexibility: Hybrid Stryker are delighted to be hiring talented Software Engineers for our “R&D Graduate Programme” – to begin in September 2027. Applications close: Friday 24th October 2026. The “R&D Graduate Programme” is a 24-month structured graduate development programme in the R&D function. The programme rotates on a 6-month rotating assignment basis in order to learn and develop the basic knowledge and skills in the various engineering areas of expertise.

During each rotational assignment participants will be responsible for:

• Software: Translating user needs to design inputs/specifications and producing component and sub-system level designs.
• Owning the design, implementation, and testing of software modules, and performing associated software development tasks (configuration management, issue/bug tracking, and risk management).
• Using version control to keep an easily traceable and documented history of development.
• Using standard software methodologies to ensure code is readable, understandable and maintainable.
• Investigation, design, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology.
• Handover of new processes from development to production.
• Debugging and correcting design issues using independent judgment.
• Independently balancing design trade-offs while designing a component of the system.

What You Need?

Candidates must have already attained or be on course to attain a 2.1 result in a Level 8 or above Software/ Computer Engineering Engineering course or related discipline.

Candidates must have/will have attained the above between June 2025 and Sept 2027.

Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem-solving skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The individual should enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic and results orientated team environment.

Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively work cross-functionally and with global teams.

Work Flexibility Remote – Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace.

These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location.

Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based.

Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements.

Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category.

Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
