Job summary

Stryker Ireland is launching a 24-month R&D Graduate Programme in September 2027. The programme rotates across Design Advanced Operations, Research and Technology Development, Advanced Quality Engineering, Engineering Services (CAD/Prototype/Test Lab) to build core engineering skills.

We seek curious, collaborative, and driven graduates with a 2.1 in Mechanical/Manufacturing/ Biomedical Engineering. Hybrid working and strong mentorship support are offered from day one.

Qualifications

  • 2.1 result in mechanical/manufacturing/biomedical engineering or related discipline.
  • Graduating between June 2025 and Sept 2027.
  • Self-starter with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Enjoy fast-paced, dynamic and results-oriented team environment.
  • Strong cross-functional communication with global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in various project teams during each rotation.
  • Work with a creative design team to develop new product concepts.
  • Investigate, design, develop and implement manufacturing processes and technology.
  • Handover new processes from development to production.
  • Implement quality systems and work with Design, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Provide process validation support internally and with vendors.
  • Develop and qualify new test equipment and methods.
  • Research, specify and qualify new test or prototyping equipment.

The “R&D Graduate Programme” is a 24-month structured graduate development programme in the R&D function.

The programme rotates on a 6-month rotating assignment basis in order to learn and develop the basic knowledge and skills in the various engineering areas of expertise.

The position rotates on a 6 monthly assignment basis: Design Advanced Operations / Research and Technology Development Advanced Quality Engineering Engineering Services (CAD/Prototype/Test Lab)

During each rotational assignment participants will be responsible for:
  • Mechanical: Participating in various project teams.
  • Work with a highly creative design team to invent and develop innovative new product concepts.

What You Need?
  • Candidates must have already attained or be on course to attain a 2.1 result in a Level 8 or above Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Biomedical Engineering course orrelated discipline.
  • Candidates must have/will have attained the above between June 2025 and Sept 2027.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem-solving skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • The individual should enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic and results orientated team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively work cross-functionally and with global teams.

The compensation information posted for this role may be presented as a salary range or a fixed amount depending on the role. Work Flexibility Remote – Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
